PRESCHOOL STORY HOUR FAQS

Registration and Fees

Preschool Story Hour registration opens in January 2024. We announce the opening of our registration through our monthly email newsletter so we recommend interested families join our newsletter! Subscribe here:

Children must be between the ages of 3-5 years old by the first class of a registered session.

We ask that the caregiver accompanying each child be over the age of 18.

Our programming is designed for 3-5 years old and one(1) adult caregiver. Babes-in-arms, defined as infants who will not be participating in the program activities, are welcome at no charge.  If a sibling(s) of the same family are in the 3-5 year old age range, there is a discount priced for the additional sibling.  At this time we will not able to accommodate siblings older than 5 years old or younger than 2 years old,  unless they are a babes-in-arms.

Your ticket purchases admission to one,  4 week-long session of PSH classes for one child with one adult caregiver. Each ticket also includes all-day admission for the rest of that day at Gorman Heritage Farm. Babes-in-arms are welcome at these sessions, but other siblings 3-5 years old must have a purchased ticket to attend. At this time we will not able to accommodate siblings older than 5 years old or younger than 2 years old,  unless they are a babes-in-arms.

Refunds are possible no later than 2 weeks in advance of the first scheduled program.  Our programs run rain or shine.  If we cancel your class date due to severe weather or safety concerns, Gorman Heritage Farm may reschedule the session or issue a refund.

Attendees are not refunded for their missed sessions. Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If possible and outside of 2 week prior to the beginning of the session, registrations are transferrable to another session, as long as there is availability. Registrations may be transferred to another child.

Attendees will be notified via email and phone as soon as possible that a session is cancelled. A replacement session may be offered in select cases.

Attendance and Logistics

Preschool Story Hour will check- in and begin our program in the Soil & Stars Education Building located at 10020 Reading Road. We have a paved parking lot with paved sidewalk to the building front door.

As a group, will will walk up to the farm for farm fun and exploration! At the end of the class, you can continue to explore the farm, gardens, trails on your own.

No, we’ll have your information here on the Farm, but please be sure to know what name the registration is under.

Yes. Please be sure to know the name the registration is under.  One child and one caregiver are admitted per registration.

Additional children must either be babes-in-arms (not participating in the activities) or a sibling(s) in the required age range 3-5 years old, with a purchased  ticket.

Please keep in mind that it is on the caregivers to help manage the children in their care. If you feel you need extra adult help, please plan ahead to attend with more than one adult.

  • Weather appropriate clothing – This is very important, as we will go outside for some portion of every class.  Long underwear or leggings under pants, warm coats, mittens, warm shoes, raincoats, and rain boots will be required clothing for at least one of the class times so that your child can have the best time. (There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!)
  • A healthy body! If you or your child is exhibiting signs of illness, or has a known contagious virus, we ask that you remain at home to keep everyone healthy and comfortable.
  • Picnic blanket (Optional) – This picnic blanket will be used inside our classroom for families to sit on inside on the floor.
  • Snack and water (Optional) – You are welcome to use one of our picnic tables to enjoy a snack before or after the program!
