FARM SIGHTS

Interpretive Center

Once you park, head to the Front Desk in our Interpretive Center! Here, our team can say hello, collect admission, get you a map, and answer any questions you have. You can also peruse our Farm Shop where you can buy our meat, eggs, produce, honey, and flowers when they are in season! We also sell other locally sourced farm goods.

Gardens

We have gardens galore at the Farm! Visit our cutting garden to explore the flowers, enjoy the veggies growing in our raised beds, play in the Children’s Garden, and discover native species in the Trosset Wildflower Sanctuary!

Children’s Play Spaces

The Children’s Garden is designed with kids’ curiosity and playfulness in mind. Enjoy the five senses garden beds, sundial, pathways, and chicken and bunny enclosure. Hop on our play tractor by the gardens and historic model tractor in the farmyard to pretend to be a farmer!

Farm Animals

Farm animals can be found throughout the farm! While many live in our farmyard, others live in the pastures along the pathways. While we don’t permit guests to enter enclosures with animals or feed them, you may pet animals at your own risk if they approach the fences. As a working farm, the location, number, and kind of animals we have vary based on the season, so check with the Front Desk to get an update!

Historic Buildings

The farmyard is not just home to animals, it also features historic barns and buildings from the farm’s nearly 200 years of operation. Walk through our 1835 Bank Barn, visit the equines who live in our 1911 Alfalfa Barn, and see our egg laying chickens in the 1930s Hen House! These treasured buildings teach us about the history of farming in the area and are still in use today, a testament to the care that the Brown-Gorman family took in building them.

Hiking Trails and Overlook

Put on your hiking shoes and hit the trails here at the Farm! We have a series of hiking paths through our forests and around our crop fields. You can hike your way up to our overlook, one of the highest points in Hamilton County, where you can look down on the Farm and the Village of Evendale.

Pond and Wetland

Enjoy our aquatic habitats throughout the farm by walking over our boardwalks and pathways. You can spot wetland wildlife including frogs, turtles, ducks, and dragonflies visiting these important ecosystems.

Crops

Walk the paths around our crop fields and see what is growing. We use crop rotation as part of our regenerative agriculture practices, so the fields grow different plants each year. Crops that you will see as part of our rotation include corn, soybeans, sunflowers, hay, and cover crops like clover.
