What we achieved together in 2025
Author: Ryan Mooney-Bullock
When I stepped into my role as the executive director of Gorman Heritage Farm this February I was excited to get to know the organization, how it works, and how it tracks the impact it delivers to the community. I was excited to discover that the team collects an amazing variety of data across its programs, and was in the process of compiling its first Impact Report. Whether you are a supporter, a volunteer, a member, or just someone curious about nonprofit educational working farms, I hope you will take delight in seeing what this small but mighty organization was able to deliver in just one year.
If you dig into the report, you will learn that demand for our farm-based education and experiences is higher than ever. In 2025, Gorman Heritage Farm served over 21,700 visitors with a 6% year-over-year attendance increase; educational programming alone reached more than 6,000 people, a 21% jump from 2024. Summer Day Camp sold out. Both the spring and fall field trip seasons were fully booked, with waitlists. Our new Nature Playscape quickly became a popular feature of our youngest visitors.
On the production and land management side of the farm, our gardeners and farmers produced over 13,000 pounds of vegetables, over 11,000 stems of flowers, 7,200 eggs, 6,600 pounds of humanely raised pastured meat, 1,000 bales of hay and straw and much more. We completed our Gorman Stream restoration project, adding to the 25 acres of woodland that are under active management.
