Jo Lizotte

Jo was born in Montana but mostly grew up in Northeast Wisconsin. They went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Environmental Studies with a certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies. They had a decade-long career in community organizing and fundraising before making the transition to outdoor education. For the past four years they have worked as an educator for a variety of experiential learning centers in the Smoky Mountains, Maine, North Carolina, and Ohio. They have been working in agricultural education for 2 years.

Jo’s favorite things to do include hiking and exploring new walking paths with their dog; reading fantasy, science fiction, and romance books; playing board games; and doing puzzles and sudokus. One of their favorite animals on the farm to work with are the goats and enjoy clicker training with them!
