Little Farmers Storytime
April Session
Thursdays from 10am-11am
Have fun on the farm and in the garden with your preschooler while practicing early reading skills!
This 1 hour class is designed for emergent readers ages 3 – 5 years and builds connections between the five senses, caring for farm animals, planting and growing food, farm machines, and music with early literacy components (reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, and visualization).
Each class will begin with a song/story/activity component indoors and continue with a trip to the garden or farmyard.
This is a fun, age-appropriate class with lots of hands-on activities for a child/caregiver team paired with the best in children’s literature.
April 9- W is for Worms
Learn all about wiggly worms and how they help in the garden with worm-themed stories, songs, and crafts. We will end by meeting and holding our red wiggler worms!
April 16 – S is for Seed
Learn all about the seeds, what they need to grow, what certain seeds can provide for us (food!). We will learn about seeds with stories, songs, a seed craft. We will end by planting a seed to take home!
April 23 – F is for Flower
Learn all about flowers through our favorite books songs, and special flower craft. We will end the meeting with a special walk through the flower gardens.
April 30- B is for Bees
Learn all about the bees that make honey and the bees that are super hero pollinators through bee-themed stories, songs, and crafts. We will end by visiting a solitary bee home and tasting honey!
