Rachel grew up with a deep curiosity for the natural world, spending time observing plants and animals and learning, in her own way, about reciprocity—understanding that we are in relationship with the land, not separate from it. Much of her early connection to food came from cooking with ingredients grown close to home, often incorporating edible flowers and foraged plants.

Her path has taken a few meaningful turns. Rachel has spent over a decade working in healthcare, alongside time in hospitality and the culinary world, often in leadership roles. Across these spaces, she developed a systems-oriented approach—supporting others, navigating complexity, and helping people and communities thrive.

Today, her work centers around food, community, and connection. She is passionate about connecting people with their food—how it’s grown, where it comes from, and the relationships that sustain it. She serves on the Green Umbrella Food Policy Council and leads the publication of the CORV Local Food Guide, helping connect communities with local farms and food producers.

Rachel is especially drawn to creating spaces where people can gather, learn, and connect—with the land and with one another. She is excited to be part of the education team at Gorman Heritage Farm and to help co-create meaningful opportunities for connection, learning, and community.
