Marci grew up in the countryside just outside of Yellow Springs, Ohio, fostering her love for nature, animals and wildlife at a young age. During her high school years, she worked on a delightful farm called Young’s Jersey Dairy, that is still a popular tourist attraction today! After graduating from Miami University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Marketing, she moved abroad to Galway, Ireland to spend a year traveling, working and learning about European cultures. Upon returning to Ohio, she settled with her husband in Cincinnati and had three children. While the kids were young, she helped develop and manage a Children’s Garden at their elementary school. Every Fall, the students grow a salad garden and serve it on the lunch line for the whole school at the end of the season! Marci also helped develop a food program called Backpack Bundles, serving students in need with food over the weekends and holidays. She still volunteers with both of these wonderful programs! Marci also started out as a volunteer here in the Market Garden at Gorman, but quickly fell in love with the flowers and their ability to bring so much joy and beauty to others. She is excited to build programs to share the magic of flowers and to show that growing, cultivating and arranging flowers can be accessible to all.
