Barb Liphardt

Garden Manager
Barb has been passionate about healthy food for about 25 years. After beginning her studies at Purdue University, she finished her BS degree at Union Institute & University in Environmental Studies, concentrating on food, food production and food politics. Barb walks her talk by growing much of her own food on her urban farm in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Northside. The two vegetable gardens, 6 fruit trees, 4 nut trees, various berries, asparagus, and kiwi are shared with her 2 young boys and three tenants. She promotes local eating by having a meat CSA, a herd share, and a Gorman Heritage Farm CSA share. Barb also promotes sustainable living by reducing her global footprint in about 33 ways throughout the year. “I am thrilled to be working at Gorman Heritage Farm, finally my career matches my lifestyle.”
