Savor the Season: Farm to Fork Celebration

Chefs from around Cincinnati demonstrated dishes that highlight Spring's bounty from a wide range of Farms around the area. Guests learned how these tasty Spring delicacies came into existence during our garden and farm workshops. This year's event culminated with Raid the Garden, a "Chopped-style" food competition. The winning chef was Nick Marckwald of Hen of the Woods.

May 2nd, 2015 - Thanks for a great event!

In partnership with Slow Food Cincinnati, the 4th annual Savor the Season event was held here at Gorman Heritage Farm on May 2nd, 2015.  We had a great time learning and tasting as top local chefs from around Cincinnati demonstrated dishes that highlight Spring's bounty from a wide range of Farms around the area. NEW THIS YEAR: Savor the Spirits from 3-5pm.   We enjoyed local beer and cocktails as Chef Julie Francis and Lance Bowman of Japp's demonstrated cocktails/mocktails and food pairings before  our Raid the Garden "Chopped-style" food competition began.  During Raid the Garden food trucks provided food and DJ Mowgli was spinning some sweet beats!

Plan to join us next year for a day of cooking, farming and gardening at Gorman Heritage Farm,  Dan Beard Council Scout Achievement Center, and the United Aerospace Workers (UAW) Building.

Here is a link to a great video about this year's event.  Hope to see you next Spring!
