Come and stroll through fields of Sunflowers and enjoy the
many activities we have planned. This was a great event last year, and the
2008 Sunflower Festival promises to be bigger, better and more memorable than
last year!
Sunflowers
The
highlight of the weekend is sure to be our fields and fields of
sunflowers. Enjoy our spectacular views and enjoy a walk or take
picture of our sunflower fields. Cut a bouquet to beautify your own
home as well. Children and adults of all ages will enjoy all the
activities we have to offer.
Sunflower Maze
Have you ever been lost in a field of
flowers? Well, here's your chance ... this year our traditional corn
maze will have a twist: we've put it in a sunflower field! Wander through
the golden flowers, and really experience
something unique.
Music and Dance Performances
Enjoy traditional clog
dancers and music from the Appalachian region of America. On Saturday,
the Country Steps Clog Dancers
will perform traditional clog and Appalachian dance steps and are sure to
entertain all.
On Sunday, the Cincinnati Dulcimer Society will perform traditional
Appalachian music ranging through various time periods and styles.
These musicians may have you up out of your seat and dancing in no time
with their upbeat music. (1:45 PM)
Kids' Activities
Hey kids .. have you ever searched for a needle in a hay stack? This
year at the Sunflower Festival, kids will have the opportunity to jump in
the hay, and pull out a prize! Paint a pumpkin, make a seed mosaic,
or try some other great crafts. Dig in the soil with antique farm
tools, see our old tractors as always, visit with our friendly animals!
Come as You Grow Costume Contest
Children are invited to dress as a sunflower
or their favorite farm animal and enter our "Come as You Grow" Costume
Contest. Winners will be given a prize and all children who come
dressed as a sunflower or their favorite farm animal will be receive free
admission. (Judging daily at 1 PM in the farmyard.)
Pumpkin

Autumn is the season for pumpkins and here
at the Farm we will have plenty. Feel free to walk through our
pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkin, just in time for Halloween.
Equestrian Demonstrations

abilities, from pleasure riding and jumping to draft horse work.
Different equestrian activities will
be presented throughout the weekend.
Hay Rides
Traditional Hay Rides will be given
throughout the Sunflower Festival. Open to all ages, children and
adults alike will love taking a ride to the sunflower fields and pumpkin
patch on one of our hay wagons!
